ROYAL DALMATIAN PUPPIES
Royal Dalmatian Puppies
Our Story
Royal Dalmatian Puppies was founded in 2015 with a single, uncompromising vision: to preserve and elevate the Dalmatian breed through ethical, transparent, and health-focused breeding practices. What began as a small family endeavor on a quiet ten-acre property in the countryside has grown into one of the most respected Dalmatian breeding programs in the country — not because we chased volume, but because we refused to compromise on quality. Every puppy that leaves our home carries with it a legacy of careful genetic selection, early neurological stimulation, and an unwavering commitment to the physical and emotional well-being of both the dogs and the families who welcome them. We are not a kennel in the commercial sense; we are a family that happens to breed exceptional Dalmatians, and that distinction defines everything we do.
Breeding Dalmatians is not a hobby for us — it is a responsibility. The Dalmatian is a breed with a rich and storied history, from its origins as a carriage dog in Croatia to its iconic status as a firehouse mascot and beloved family companion. But the breed also carries known health considerations, including a predisposition to deafness and urinary stones, which is why we approach every mating decision with the rigor of a scientific study. We do not breed simply because we have two available dogs. We breed because we have spent years studying pedigrees, analyzing health clearances, evaluating temperaments, and consulting with veterinarians and geneticists to ensure that every litter represents a genuine advancement for the breed. Our puppies are not products; they are the culmination of a deliberate, thoughtful process that prioritizes longevity, soundness, and temperament above all else.
Health & Genetics
Every breeding dog in our program undergoes a comprehensive battery of health screenings before being considered for a litter. This includes BAER testing for deafness — a critical evaluation that allows us to identify carriers and make informed breeding decisions — as well as OFA evaluations for hips and elbows, thyroid testing, and cardiac examinations. We also utilize advanced DNA testing through Embark and Paw Print Genetics to screen for conditions such as hyperuricosuria (HU), which can predispose Dalmatians to urinary stones. We do not breed dogs that have not been cleared for these conditions, and we are transparent about the results. When you reserve a puppy from Royal Dalmatian Puppies, you receive a complete health portfolio for both parents, including all test results, so you can make an informed decision with confidence. We believe that health transparency is not a luxury — it is the bare minimum that any responsible breeder should provide.
The first eight weeks of a puppy's life are the most formative period in its development, and we treat that window with the seriousness it deserves. Our puppies are raised in our home — not in a kennel run — and are exposed to a carefully structured enrichment program from the moment they are born. We follow the Bio Sensor method of early neurological stimulation, which involves handling each puppy through a series of gentle exercises that promote neurological development, improve cardiovascular health, and enhance stress resilience. Beyond that, our puppies are introduced to a variety of sounds, surfaces, and sights: the vacuum cleaner, the doorbell, hardwood floors, carpet, grass, children, adults, and other animals. By the time they leave us, they are confident, curious, and well-equipped to adapt to virtually any home environment. This is not extra work for us — it is simply what responsible breeding looks like.
A Dalmatian's temperament is every bit as important as its physical health, and we breed specifically for dogs that are stable, friendly, and eager to please. We evaluate our breeding dogs not only for conformation but for their behavior around children, strangers, and other dogs. A Dalmatian that is shy, reactive, or aggressive has no place in our program, no matter how beautiful its markings may be. Our puppies are socialized daily from birth, and we carefully match each puppy's personality with the lifestyle and expectations of its future family. If you are an active family that loves hiking and running, we will guide you toward the more energetic puppy in the litter. If you are a retired couple looking for a calm companion, we will steer you toward the more laid-back pup. This personalized approach ensures that every placement is a success story, not a gamble.
Our Adoption Process
We do not operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Instead, we conduct a thorough application and interview process to ensure that every puppy goes to a home that is prepared for the unique joys and challenges of Dalmatian ownership. Our application asks about your living situation, your activity level, your experience with dogs, and your long-term plans for the puppy. We follow up with a phone or video call to get to know you better and to answer any questions you may have. We also require that you have a veterinarian lined up before you bring your puppy home, and we encourage you to visit our facility — or at least participate in a live video tour — so you can see exactly where your puppy was raised. We are not trying to make the process difficult; we are trying to make it right. A Dalmatian is a 12-to-14-year commitment, and we take that seriously.
Once your application is approved and you have selected your puppy, we provide a comprehensive puppy package that includes vaccination records, deworming history, a health certificate from our veterinarian, a starter bag of food, a blanket that carries the scent of the litter, and a detailed care guide that covers everything from nutrition and exercise to training and grooming. We also offer a one-year genetic health guarantee, and we remain available to you for the lifetime of your dog. If you ever have a question, a concern, or simply want to share a photo of your Dalmatian living its best life, we are just a phone call or email away. We consider every family that adopts from us to be part of the Royal Dalmatian family, and we do not disappear after the sale. Our relationship with you begins on adoption day — it does not end there.
Where Our Puppies Are Raised
Our dogs live in our home and have access to a securely fenced, ten-acre property that includes open pastures, wooded trails, and a dedicated play area. They sleep indoors, eat indoors, and are treated as members of the family — because they are. We do not believe in keeping dogs in kennels or runs for extended periods, and we do not believe in breeding dogs that do not have the opportunity to live full, happy lives as companions first and breeding animals second. Our adult dogs are titled in conformation, obedience, or agility, and several have earned their Canine Good Citizen certifications. They are proof that a dog can be both a champion and a cherished family member. When you visit our home, you will not see rows of cages or concrete floors. You will see dogs lounging on couches, playing fetch in the yard, and greeting you with wagging tails. That is the environment our puppies come from, and that is the environment we want them to carry with them into their new homes.
Nutrition plays a foundational role in a puppy's development, and we spare no expense in providing our dogs and puppies with the highest-quality food available. We feed a balanced, species-appropriate diet that is rich in high-quality proteins and free from artificial preservatives, colors, and by-products. Our pregnant and nursing mothers receive supplemental nutrition to support their increased caloric needs, and our puppies are gradually introduced to solid food through a carefully managed weaning process that minimizes stress and digestive upset. We also provide guidance to new owners on how to continue that nutrition plan at home, including recommendations for specific brands and feeding schedules. We believe that a well-nourished dog is a healthy dog, and that a healthy dog is a happy dog. It is a simple equation, but it is one that too many breeders overlook.
Dalmatians are intelligent, energetic, and highly trainable — but they are also sensitive and can become bored or destructive if not given proper mental and physical stimulation. We prepare our puppies for success by introducing them to basic crate training, house-training routines, and simple obedience cues before they leave our home. We also provide new owners with a training resource guide and access to a private Facebook group where they can ask questions and share tips with other Royal Dalmatian families. We strongly encourage puppy kindergarten and continued obedience training, and we are happy to recommend trainers in your area who use positive reinforcement methods. A well-trained Dalmatian is a joy to live with; an untrained one can be a challenge. We want every family to experience the former, not the latter.
Our Ethical Commitment
Ethical breeding is not a marketing slogan for us — it is a set of non-negotiable principles that govern every decision we make. We do not breed dogs that are too young or too old. We do not breed dogs that have not been health-tested. We do not breed more than one litter per female per year, and we retire our females after a maximum of three litters. We do not sell puppies to pet stores, brokers, or anyone who will not allow us to conduct a home visit or video interview. We do not separate puppies from their mothers before eight weeks of age. We do not ship puppies as cargo. We do not prioritize profit over the well-being of our dogs. And we do not — under any circumstances — breed for a specific color or marking at the expense of health or temperament. These are not arbitrary rules. They are the bedrock of a program that has earned the trust of over one hundred families over the past eight years, and we will never compromise them.
As we look to the future, our goal is not to become the largest Dalmatian breeder in the country — it is to become the most trusted. We measure our success not by how many puppies we sell, but by how many families come back to us for their second or third Dalmatian. We measure it by the health issues that never happen, the behavioral problems that never develop, and the relationships that flourish between our dogs and their people. We are constantly learning, constantly refining our practices, and constantly seeking new ways to improve the lives of the dogs in our care. We are proud of what we have built over the past eight years, but we are even more excited about what the next eight will bring. Whether you are a first-time Dalmatian owner or a seasoned enthusiast, we invite you to become part of our story. We promise to be worthy of your trust.
Our promise to you: Every Royal Dalmatian puppy is raised in our home, socialized from birth, health-tested, and backed by a one-year genetic guarantee and a lifetime of support. We are not just breeding dogs — we are building families, one happy tail at a time.

What We Stand For
Health First
Every breeding decision is guided by genetic testing, veterinary oversight, and a commitment to producing dogs that live long, pain-free lives.
Transparency
We share health records, pedigrees, and facility tours openly. We have nothing to hide and everything to prove.
Lifetime Support
From the day you bring your puppy home to the day you say goodbye, we are here for you. No question is too small.
We researched breeders for over a year before choosing Royal Dalmatian. The difference was immediately obvious — the health testing, the transparency, the genuine love for the breed. Our boy is now four years old and he is the healthiest, happiest dog we have ever had. We cannot imagine our lives without him.
