ROYAL DALMATIAN PUPPIES
RETURN AND REFUND POLICY
Return & Refund Policy
We stand behind every puppy we place. If something goes wrong, we are committed to making it right โ quickly, fairly, and with your family's best interests at heart.
Our Commitment to Fairness
Adopting a Dalmatian puppy is a significant commitment, and we understand that sometimes circumstances change. Whether you are facing an unexpected health issue with your puppy, a change in your living situation, or simply a realization that a Dalmatian is not the right fit for your family, we want you to know that we are here to help. This Return & Refund Policy outlines the circumstances under which returns and refunds may be requested, the timelines involved, and the process for resolving concerns.
We believe that a fair return and refund policy is not just good business โ it is an ethical obligation. We brought these puppies into the world, and we take responsibility for their well-being throughout their lives. If a puppy needs to be rehomed, we want to be the first call you make. If a refund is warranted, we want to process it quickly and without hassle. Our goal is to ensure that every outcome โ whether a puppy stays with you or returns to us โ is handled with dignity and care.
Please note: This policy applies to all adoptions from Royal Dalmatian Puppies. By reserving a puppy, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to the terms outlined on this page.
Return Eligibility
Not every situation warrants a return, and not every return is eligible for a refund. Below is a clear breakdown of the circumstances under which a puppy may be returned to Royal Dalmatian Puppies, and what you can expect in each case.
2.1 Eligible Return Reasons
- โDiagnosed Hereditary Health Condition: If your puppy is diagnosed with a condition covered by our Health Guarantee within the coverage period, you may return the puppy for a replacement or refund as outlined in that policy.
- โSevere Temperament Mismatch: If, within 14 days of adoption, a licensed veterinary behaviorist determines that your puppy has a temperament issue that makes them unsuitable for your household, we will work with you to rehome the puppy.
- โBuyer Medical Emergency: If you experience a documented medical emergency that makes it impossible for you to care for the puppy, we will accept the puppy back and work with you on a fair resolution.
- โUnforeseen Life Circumstances: If you experience a major life change (divorce, job loss, relocation to a non-pet-friendly home, etc.), we will accept the puppy back and help rehome them.
- โBreeder Error: If we made a mistake in the placement, health documentation, or delivery of your puppy, we will make it right โ including accepting a return if necessary.
2.2 Non-Eligible Return Reasons
- โChange of Heart: We understand that life happens, but a puppy is a lifelong commitment. If you simply change your mind, we will help you rehome the puppy but a refund may not be issued.
- โCosmetic Preferences: Markings, coat texture, eye color, and other cosmetic traits are not grounds for return or refund.
- โNormal Puppy Behaviors: Chewing, nipping, house-training accidents, and other typical puppy behaviors are not defects and are not eligible for return.
- โBuyer Neglect or Mistreatment: If a puppy is returned in poor condition due to neglect, abuse, or failure to provide proper care, no refund will be issued and legal action may be pursued.
- โExpired Return Window: Returns requested more than 14 days after adoption for non-health reasons are not eligible for a refund.
Good to know: If you need to rehome your Dalmatian for any reason โ even if a refund is not available โ we will always help you find a loving home. We never want one of our puppies to end up in a shelter.
Refund Schedule
Refund amounts depend on when the return is initiated, the reason for the return, and whether the puppy can be safely rehomed. The table below outlines our standard refund schedule. In all cases, we aim to be fair and to cover the costs we have already incurred in raising and placing the puppy.
| Return Timing | Reason | Refund Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Within 72 hours of pickup | Buyer's remorse (no health issue) | 50% of purchase price |
| Within 14 days of pickup | Documented temperament issue | 75% of purchase price |
| Within 14 days of pickup | Buyer medical or life emergency | 75% of purchase price |
| Within 12 months | Covered hereditary health condition | Full or partial (per Health Guarantee) |
| After 14 days (non-health) | Change of heart or lifestyle | No refund (rehoming assistance only) |
| Any time | Breeder error | Full refund or replacement |
| Any time | Neglect or mistreatment | No refund (legal action may apply) |
Important: Refunds do not include the $500 reservation deposit, which is non-refundable under all circumstances. Delivery fees, health certificate costs, and flight nanny fees are also non-refundable once travel has been booked.
How to Initiate a Return
If you need to return your puppy, please follow the steps below. We are here to support you through every stage of the process, and we will do everything we can to make it as smooth and stress-free as possible.
Contact Us First
Email us at returns@royaldalmatianpuppies.com or call (555) 123-4567. Do not surrender your puppy to a shelter, rescue, or third party without contacting us first. We have the right of first refusal on every puppy we place.
Provide Documentation
Depending on the reason for the return, we may ask for veterinary records, a behaviorist's report, or other supporting documentation. This helps us determine the appropriate refund amount and ensures we can provide the best possible care for the puppy upon return.
Arrange Return Logistics
We will work with you to arrange transportation back to our facility. In most cases, the cost of returning the puppy is the responsibility of the buyer. However, if the return is due to breeder error, we will cover all costs.
Health Assessment
Once the puppy arrives at our facility, they will receive a full veterinary examination. If the puppy is found to be in good health, we will proceed with the refund. If the puppy has health issues caused by neglect, the refund may be reduced or denied.
Refund Processing
Refunds are processed within 14 business days of the puppy's return and health assessment. Refunds are issued via the original payment method whenever possible. You will receive a confirmation email once the refund has been processed.
Follow-Up Support
Even after a return, we remain available to you. If you have questions about the process, need documentation for your records, or simply want to talk through what happened, we are here to listen.
Non-Refundable Items & Fees
To maintain fairness and cover costs already incurred, the following items and fees are non-refundable under all circumstances:
- โขReservation Deposit ($500): This deposit secures your place in line and covers administrative and reservation costs.
- โขFlight Nanny Fees: Once a flight has been booked, the airline and nanny costs are non-refundable.
- โขHealth Certificate Fees ($85): These are paid to third-party veterinarians and cannot be recovered.
- โขGround Delivery Fees: Once delivery has been arranged and dispatched, these fees are non-refundable.
- โขCredit Card Processing Fees (3%): These are charged by our payment processor and are not recoverable.
- โขVeterinary Costs Incurred by Buyer: Any veterinary expenses you incur after taking possession of the puppy are your responsibility.
Transparency: We want you to know exactly what is refundable and what is not before you make a decision. If you have questions about any fee, please ask us before placing your deposit.
